7 June 2019: The first ever World Food Safety Day. Its purpose is to promote safe, healthy and sustainable food sources globally; we all have a shared responsibility as producers and distributors of food. Still today, almost one in ten people in the world fall ill after eating contaminated food. When food is not safe, children cannot learn and adults cannot work.
