A million cartons, responsibly produced

Dole’s Western Cape farms reached a significant operational milestone this season: 1 million cartons of export grapes packed to date. Well done, team!
For Dole, scale is only part of the story. This season we continued to strengthen our sustainability journey by establishing carbon footprints across our farming operations. Understanding our impact allows us to manage this responsibly, ensuring that growth is aligned with environmental accountability, efficient resource use and long-term resilience.
This achievement reflects the leadership of Dole’s farm managers, the discipline of our production teams and a combined commitment to producing grapes with measurable responsibility.

Fiesta Fresh targets supply chain

We had the privilege of welcoming the Mayor of Cape Town, Geordin Hill-Lewis, and his team to our Fiesta Fresh (Pty) Ltd facility in Epping Industria.

It was a great opportunity to introduce who we are, share the Fiesta Fresh vision as a fully utilized container consolidation centre and discuss how this can strengthen the fruit supply chain and Cape Town port efficiencies – benefiting growers, exporters and shipping line partners.

A big thank you to the Mayor and his team for their time, openness, and support – and for joining us on a quick spin in the reach stacker!

Cutting waste, one pallet at a time

Dole Food Company is expanding the commercial use of Oxifilm®, a 100% recyclable, macroperforated stretch film, across its banana and pineapple operations in Latin America.

By replacing corner boards, straps, and clamps in the palletization process, Dole is eliminating up to 85% of traditional materials—saving more than 15 800 kg of plastic every week.

This isn’t just about reducing plastic. It’s about:
✅ Enhancing operational efficiency
✅ Improving workplace ergonomics
✅ Maintaining fruit quality
✅ Leading with innovation in sustainable agriculture
